Running With Runion Newsletter 11-2-23
One more week until Election Day! What a journey it has been so far, and a blessing to be a part of it! We’ve been busy knocking doors, meeting with constituents, and preparing for the next term in a new district. I’ve also had the opportunity to learn about different organizations in our community working to make a difference. We have so much to be proud of in our small communities, and I look forward to continuing to fight for and represent our Valley Values! Keep reading to learn more about all that has been going on in the valley!
Building Connections
The past few months, I’ve been able to travel across the new House District 35 to meet those who we will be serving the next 2 years. I can’t thank each of you enough for your kindness and hospitality as we meet, fellowship, and engage in educating conversations that help me to learn about what is important to the people we serve, the issues they face, and how we can all work together to protect our Valley Values! Each of the individuals in these pictures, and each of you, play an instrumental part in making the Valley such a fantastic place to live, work, and raise a family.
Election Day Is Almost Here!
Why vote? Each of us have the right to let our voices be heard in deciding who represents us. These individuals are selected by the people to serve for the people. This Election Day, when you go to the polls to cast your ballot, I challenge you to think about why you vote. Is it because of change you want to see in the future, or the protection of what has been put in place? No matter your reason for voting, I encourage you to do so. Let your voice be heard!
It’s not too late to secure your vote BEFORE Election Day! A flat tire, sick day, or other unforeseen circumstances may keep you from making it to the polls on November 7th. It’s as easy as visiting https://secureyourvotevirginia.com/ to get started.
There are numerous local and state candidates on the ballot. If you’re unsure of who you may be voting for, you can visit https://www.vpap.org/ to learn who will be on your ballot!

Augusta Health Mobile Unit
This past week I had the chance to see the Augusta Health Mobile Clinic in action at the Craigsville Town Hall, and get my flu shot while I was there! In addition to Craigsville, the clinic sets up in various locations across the Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro area.
This program brings a comprehensive primary care team to under-served members in our communities (ages 18+), regardless of social status, income levels, insurance, disabilities, citizenship, education level or preferred language. Some of the services they provide with the mobile clinic include management of chronic disease, vaccines, lab work, and more.
Thank you to the Augusta Mobile Clinic for staff for the service that you provide to our citizens!
Augusta County Agricultural Discovery Day
The first ever Augusta County Agricultural Discovery Day took place this past weekend at Augusta Expo in Fishersville. Children had the opportunity to learn about things like wool production, aquaponics, soil and water conservation, and “go shopping” as they got to choose different foods, learn where they come from, and take them to the market. We certainly can’t forget, there were lots of animals there to see as well!
Thank you to the individuals who helped organize such a great event, and to the supporters who helped make it happen!
Next month, we look forward to sharing about the many events that are coming up in our community!
